Kendall County PADS

Kendall County PADS is dedicated to providing, temporary, safe shelter and nourishing food to the men, women, and children within Kendall County who are homeless or in need.

PADS, a 501(c)3 operates in six churches and one private school (four in Yorkville) to provide overnight shelter 26 weeks each year, from mid-October through mid-April. With the assistance of social workers on site each site, homeless guests are provided with information to link them to other local social service agencies. Since its start in 2010, Kendall County PADS has sheltered 474 different individuals, with 11,006 'overnight stays and more than 33,325 meals served. Approximately 600 volunteers - men and women, 18 years and older - staff the shelters, with each volunteer committing to serve one shift (four and a half hours) just six times during the six months.
