Stephen Alan Salon: COVID-19 Guidelines
Our COVID-19 salon guidelines:
We have decided to implement new policies at the salon to ensure our staff’s and our clients safety. Please note that these policies can change as Illinois has not set salon guidelines to reopen yet.
*We will be providing services by appointment only
*We ask no one accompanies you during your appointment time.
*Request that children the age of 12 and under wait to schedule an appointment until this policy is lifted.
*Please only bring: keys, phone and a form of payment into the salon with you.
*Scheduling appointments via the Online Request Appointment Form. We will then reach out to you to schedule your services.
*Every employee will be wearing a mask at all times
*We will be requiring every guest entering the salon to do so as well (we can provide a mask for $1 if requested)
*Every stylist will be wearing a clean apron for every guest
*Clients will be asked to remain in their car when they arrive at the salon for their appointment and “check in” using the link we provide in the confirmation email. We will then text you when your service provider is available. (So be sure to save your confirmation emails when you receive them!)
*No more than 10 people allowed in the salon at a time. This number will include staff members
*Only every other station will be used to maintain 6ft social distancing
*Two sneeze guard walls were installed in the lather lounge to protect clients in case there is ever a time that we are unable to maintain 6ft social distancing
*All retail products will be handled by staff only to avoid multiple hands touching
*All tools, brushes, combs, clips, stations, chairs and trays will be sanitized before each guest
*Any area a guest has had contact with, such as front desk, lather lounge chairs or color lounge chairs, will be disinfected before another guest arrives.
*Freshly cleaned capes and towels will be used on each guest.
*Hand sanitizer will be readily available throughout the salon.
*Every staff member will be required to use hand sanitizer before any contact with a guest.
*We ask that everyone entering the salon uses hand sanitizer when they enter as well.
*Hand towels in the bathroom have been removed and replaced with disposable napkins
*No beverages will be served for the time being
*All magazine’s and reading glasses have been removed due to the inability to disinfect these items properly
*No blowdry services within the first three weeks of the salon opening. This will allow us to provide more services to more guests without having more people in the salon. This will also give staff an opportunity to adjust and build a tolerance to wearing aprons, gloves and face masks on long physically active work days. This will not apply if you are already on the blowdry membership program.
*Minimum services the first 60 days of opening. This means a six pack foil with your retouch instead of a partial foil, a six piece bayalage instead of a full bayalage. We have been training on simple techniques to create great looks! We will be able to do full services at your next rescheduled appointment.
*No facial waxing services outside of eyebrows will be rendered for the time being because we cannot remove masks.
*No facial shaves or beard trims will be serviced due to this task being impossible to do with masks on as well
*The entire salon will be cleaned before opening each day
*Anyone who has traveled outside of the USA in the past month will be asked to reschedule
*Anyone who has had contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the past three weeks will be asked to reschedule
*Anyone experiencing COVID-19 like symptoms or is feeling ill will be asked to reschedule
*All of our staff will be certified in Barbicide sanitation practices
*And (this is going to be the hardest thing for me to do out of everything) No hugs or handshakes. Elbow bumps and feet tapping are going to be our new normal for now.. I’m really going to miss your hugs!

*Amazing hair skills
*And an appreciation to everyone that comes to visit us and supports us
