Ribbon Cutting: Farnsworth House Kayak & Canoe Landing
A rainy day didn’t deter members of the Yorkville, Plano, and Sandwich Chambers of Commerce from visiting the Farnsworth House for a celebratory ribbon cutting on September 1.
In August 2020, Farnsworth House completed installation of a new Kayak and Canoe Landing. Kayak and canoe paddlers are invited to utilize the new landing on the grounds of Farnsworth House near the confluence of the Rob Roy Creek and the Fox River.
Following the ribbon cutting, guests were invited to tour the Farnsworth House, a site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The decor is temporary refurnished to that of Dr. Edith Farnsworth’s country retreat circa 1955 in celebration of her life and times.
