Join Edith Farnsworth House for our second biennial Modernism Road Rally touring modernist residential architecture. The tour focuses on Chicagoland Communities with exceptional Midcentury Modern Architecture. The 2023 Rally will focus on Modernist Homes in the south suburban railroad commuter communities of Flossmoor and Olympia Fields.

These communities became an area of progressive experimentation for many of the leading modernist architects of the 50’s and 60’s from Keck and Keck and Edward Dart to Bertrand Goldberg. The Rally will showcase 12 exemplary homes many of which received design awards and period periodicals, books and recent publications illustrating their individual importance and the significance of this unique enclave of modernist architecture.

This year, we are partnering with the Foundation for the Preservation of Flossmoor History, and a portion of proceeds will go towards the restoration of the historic Wagner Building, scheduled to open for Flossmoor’s Centennial in 2024, in addition to the ongoing preservation of Edith Farnsworth House.
