Luncheons hosted by the Chamber's Woman2Woman network are held on the second Tuesday of each month from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Locations vary. These functions provide opportunities for:

A delicious plated lunch is served prior to the program. Cost is $20 for Chamber members/ $25 for non-members. (Guests of members may receive the discounted rate.) Frequent attendees may purchase punch cards for additional savings (details below). Check, cash, or credit card payments may be made in advance or at the door.

Speaker:  Kendall County Sheriff Dwight Baird

Location: Kennedy Pointe Restaurant & Pub


Dwight Baird was elected to become the Sheriff in 2014.  He started his law enforcement career in 1990 with the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office; after serving there a year and a half he transferred to the Oswego Police Department.  He worked in Investigations, Patrol, Undercover Narcotics, was a member of the Special Response Team, as he rose through the ranks to obtain the rank of Chief of Police in 2003 thru December 2014.  He also was the Interim Village Administrator from April of 2011 to June of 2012.  He also served nine years as a volunteer fire fighter for the Oswego Fire protection District.

His educational background includes Waubonsee Community College, Aurora University with a Bachelor in Science Professional Studies and a diploma in Criminal Justice Management.  He obtained a Master of Arts from Western Illinois University and also has a certification as a Police Executive through Western Illinois University, and he is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society.  He also attended the FBI National Academy as a graduate of the 209th Session in 2002 and FBI LEEDS in 2010, which focus on leadership and management.

He is a member of the Illinois Sheriffs Association (ISA), National Sheriffs Association (NSA), International Association of Chiefs (IACP) of Police, a member of the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police (ILACP).  He is currently the President of the North East Multi-Regional Training Board and a Board member of the Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System and the Oswego Y.M.C.A..

He has been recognized for his achievements throughout his career, which include a Life Saving award by the Illinois Police Association, Medal of Valor award by the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police, two-time MEG Director award (Metropolitan Enforcement Groups), 2007 Youth Service Volunteer award, 1997 Oswegoland Optimist Police Officer of the Year and the 2006 Governor’s Medal of Honor award, 2014 Illinois Crime Commission Police Chief of the Year.

Lunch punch cards are available.  Purchase a card for the cost of 5 luncheons and receive the 6th lunch for free!  Punch cards are transferable but not refundable.  They will expire 18 months from date of issue. Punch cards may be purchased at the luncheons or by contacting the chamber office.
