Green Business Designation

The Yorkville Chamber Green Committee will award a Green Business Designation to qualifying Chamber member businesses. The award serves to acknowledge the sustainable efforts and green practices of the businesses.

Successful applicants will receive:

• A "Green Business" decal for their business or vehicle
• Listing (click-through logo) on the Green Committee web page
• Recognition at the annual Environmental Fair

Application Fee: $20
($50 non-YACC members)

Green Committee

Mission Statement
To educate, promote and encourage businesses within the Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce to enhance the community environment and to participate in sustainable ecological practices.

Meeting Schedule
The Green Committee will meet as needed on the third Wednesday of each month at the Yorkville Chamber Office, 26 West Countryside Parkway, Yorkville, IL  from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m..

Green Business of the Year

The Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce Green Committee is currently accepting nominations for our 2011 Green Business of the Year award.

Each year all businesses that have achieved our Green Business Designation are eligible for this award. There is still time to participate. Applications can be downloaded on the link listed above.

The Green Committee offers assistance to all who seek this designation. A representative can help you through the process. Typically, a ten minute conversation is enough to gather the needed information. A $20 ($50 non-chamber members) fee is due along with the application.

Photo op and press release upon acceptance
Click-through logo on the Chamber website's Green Committee page
Logo inclusion on Green Committee promo material

The Green Committee is always open to like-minded people interested in promoting community awareness. Our activities include the Environmental Fair & Rain Barrel campaign. Meetings are on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, 8:30am at the Yorkville Chamber office. Participation in the committee requires only your time.
